Green It Yourself workshop series
Updated: Nov 8, 2022
We are excited to be running a new sustainable living series this Spring, which we’ve called Green It Yourself. It incorporates many of the things we do at home to reduce our environmental footprint, become producers instead of consumers, and have fun building skills for a better future.
Bookings available at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/green-it-yourself-tickets-308355287967
These workshops will be extremely practical and hands-on, so you get to learn by doing and every session take away useful items you’ve made, like vegetable seeds, a nest box, fermented foods and beeswax wraps.
Topics include:
-Growing your own food
-Providing habitat for local native species
-Setting up an irrigation system
-How to maintain your bike
-Fermenting at home
-Making natural cleaners
-Making your own beeswax wrap or snack bag
-Field trip to an eco house and a community garden
Thanks to our amazing partners Green Adelaide and City of Onkaparinga we are able to offer places for $85 (discount for unwaged), which is only $12 per session!
This course is six workshops pluys a field trip, run over fortnightly blocks. Each Wednesday evening will run from 7 - 9 pm:
Wednesday 12 October and 19 October
Wednesday 2 November and 9 November
Wednesday 23 November and 30 November
Field trip date TBC
This course is for anyone who wants to learn valuable skills for a more sustainable lifestyle. However, we've noticed that while men make up nearly 50% of the population they have only been 10% of previous Living Smart course participants, and often aren’t well represented at our workshops.
That's why these tickets are split into people who identify as men and people who identify as non-binary or women. If one ticket type sells out, please put your name on the waitlist, as we can release more tickets or run another series if there is enough interest.
